Academy Rules & Etiquette
Rules
Greet the instructors and fellow students by giving handshakes (or bowing).
Line up Formation at the end of class - Higher ranking students on the right and lower ranking students on the left.
While waiting for the next class to start sit on the edge of the mat with your back against the wall or on the bench in the front area.
Show respect to all teammates and share knowledge freely as this gym prides itself on mutual growth.
Always assist less experienced students.
When sparring, take into account that size and experience matters. Sparring must be a learning experience, where both students learn.
Control yourself - language, actions, gestures, and expressions.
Do not call Instructor out to spar. It is disrespectful.
Proper BJJ tradition asks that higher level belts invite lower level belts to spar and train.
When you start a match you have to finish the match.
If you have any injuries or health concerns, notify the instructor and know your limits.
No recording classes.
